During his trip to China, Swiss Federal Councilor (Minister of Economic Affairs) Johann Schneider-Ammann also met with selected representatives of the Swiss economy living in China. On July 12, Schneider-Ammann visited Leister China together with delegates. The reason for the visit was the opening of the new Leister Manufacturing and Competence Center in Shanghai. Opening ceremonies have always been of great significance in China. All the more reason for Leister to be particularly looking forward to the participation of such an important politician. In China, Leister produces hand tools and welding machines for the Chinese market. Around 100 employees are working at the new 3500 m2 facility. Leister produces in China since 2004.
