Precise Measurement of all Air Heater Thermodynamic Characteristics

Exact specifications are a necessity when designing efficient hot-air systems. Leister Technologies' newly inaugurated measuring facility provides data of unprecedented exactness to mechanical engineers.

Measurements are taken on each air heater over a broad process window. Both volume flow and output are varied. Pressure loss and temperature are measured for each operating point at various locations. By calculating characteristic factors and through the creation of models, reproducible curves describing the properties under normalized conditions are produced for each air heater.

The following are plotted: Pressure loss vs. volume flow (for various output levels) Temperature vs. volume flow (for various output levels)

This data enables customers to design hot-air systems and mechanical engineers can develop a large range of machines. In the future, customers also will be able to use the facility to determine the characteristics of custom-built and individual hot-air components.
