Globo Optic: now also for air cooled lasers

Until recently, the Globo optic could not be operated with air-cooled lasers (laser power ≥ 100 W). The fiber connector is not compatible. A redesign of the Globo optic is scheduled, but will take some time. Therefore, an interims solution is available which is based on the proven Globo optic. However, some optical elements of the Globo optic have to be replaced and recalibrated.

In addition a fiber adapter is required with two main functions, housing the fiber ending of the air-cooled laser and fitting into the fiber connector of the optics. With the order of a Globo optic the laser used should be specified. Leister decided to hand out this interim solution at no extra charge when ordering an air-cooled laser system with Globo.
The optical adjustments affect both the adjustable focal distance and the spot diameter right after the glass sphere. In zero position the focal distance is 2 mm behind the sphere by a focal diameter of 0.3 mm. The spot diameter behind the sphere is in that case 0.8 mm. The focal position can be shifted to 4.4 mm by a continuously variable adjustment wheel. The spot diameter directly behind the sphere can thus be set between 0.8 to 3.0 mm. However, materials up to a thickness of 2 mm are very well weldable.
