Heating processes with infrared radiation (IR radiation) are mostly used in the textile industry for drying and finishing textiles. Finishing gives textile raw materials their desired wear and care properties, their feel (also haptics) and their appearance. Examples include the color and feel of clothing fabrics, the print design of advertising banners, stain-repellent and moth-proof finishes for carpets and the coating of tent fabrics to make them waterproof.
The right choice of infrared radiators is crucial
In the expertise (white paper), the two Leister IR professionals Oliver Hinz and Silvio Conti share their knowledge with you and explain:
- what needs to be considered when using IR emitters in finishing processes,
- which infrared emitters are best suited for textile finishing processes and
- why machine operators benefit most when they use medium wave IR metal foil emitters for textile finishing.
