Experience the Future at Leister – National Future Day 2024

On November 14, 2024, Leister once again opened its doors in Kägiswil and Sarnen to 16 curious young explorers who were able to learn about their parents’ everyday working lives as part of National Future Day. This special event not only offered the children an insight into the fascinating activities at Leister, but also the opportunity to get active themselves.

A Varied Day Full of Highlights

Happy soldering: the children soldered smiley prints under expert guidance.

Experiencing welding up close: using modern Leister equipment, they designed their own shoulder bags. Mechanical engineering you can touch: they learned their first manual skills while drilling and cutting.

Discovering Leister: at an interactive station, the young participants learned more about Leister’s history, locations and apprenticeships.

The morning flew by and the children were able to get creative and try out technical skills in small groups. They also learned how varied and exciting the professional world at Leister is.

An Exciting Competition

A special highlight was the competition in which the children had their knowledge of Leister and the various activities tested. The evaluation and award ceremony in the afternoon was a lot of fun – and who knows, maybe we will see some of the young guests again one day as apprentices.

Lasting Impressions

Erika Windlin, Head of Apprenticeships at Leister, and the entire team that organized the Future Day were delighted with the children's commitment and curiosity. “It’s always great to see how enthusiastic the children are,” says Windlin. The smiles on the faces leaving are the best proof that the Future Day has been a complete success.
