Learning That Goes Beyond the Manual

Each authorized Leister dealer has its own repair department staffed with a certified Leister technician. Every year, these technicians from across the U.S. gather in Itasca, IL, for intensive certification training. This year’s program took place September 10–12, 2025, led by Nick Bice, head repair technician of Leister US.

The training combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice. Technicians review the electronic and mechanical components of our machines at every level, from major systems to the tiniest components. During practical sessions, they fully disassemble and reassemble equipment, learning how to troubleshoot issues and apply the proper corrective actions. The week even concludes with a friendly competition to put their skills to the test. By the end of the program, each technician knows the machines inside and out and is prepared to handle any challenge that may arise.

As David Mason from Intech Equipment in San Bernardino, CA shared: “Having the knowledge of the newest autowelder helps me keep customers' equipment running and allows me to provide better service to my customers.” Adam Cummings from Roofers Mart in St. Louis, MO echoed the value of hands-on training, saying: “Getting hands-on experience learning the settings and programming, troubleshooting parts, and learning from the process of elimination has been very valuable to me.”

Fast Problem-Solving for Maximum Productivity

Purchasing a Leister tool or machine is an important investment for roofing contractors. These tools not only deliver high-quality welds but also improve productivity—helping companies remain competitive in the marketplace. If a machine fails mid-project, production halts and profitability can be at risk. That’s where Leister-certified repair technicians play a vital role. With their expert training and deep knowledge of Leister equipment, they can quickly diagnose issues, make the necessary repairs, and get machines back into service with minimal downtime.

DIY Repairs? Think Twice

While some contractors attempt their own repairs, this can often cause further damage. That’s why we encourage customers to rely on authorized Leister service centers. Our annual repair certification training ensures that technicians maintain the highest level of expertise. These professionals are true heroes of Leister—keeping our tools reliable, our customers productive, and our reputation strong.

Globally Trained. Always Ready.

At Leister, certified repair technicians in the USA and Europe undergo expert hands-on training every year to keep our tools running reliably. These sessions ensure consistent service quality—wherever our products are used.
