Kagiso Tarp and Net was founded 16 years ago by Deshan and Meegan Asiragadu. Attention to detail, high product quality, turnkey solutions and customer focus have transformed the company from its humble beginnings with four employees into one of the country’s leading manufacturers of tarpaulins for trucks and trailers. Today, the company employs 88 people at its production site in Tulisa Park, a suburb of Johannesburg.

Growth through Leister products

The company offers an “all-round service” from manufacture and installation to repair and design of tarpaulins. The company's customers include some of South Africa's largest logistics firms, including DP World, SuperGroup and Afrit.

Kagiso’s growth has been such that the company needed additional production space for tarpaulin manufacturing to keep pace with the volume of orders from customers large and small. This led to a move to new 65,000 square ft premises in Tulisa Park. “At our original premises, we only had one production line, which limited the number of tarpaulins we could process each day. We can house five production lines at the new premises,” explains Meegan Asiragadu.

More than 30 TRIAC blower

Thanks to Leister’s modern product range, the company has become the truck tarpaulin supplier of choice for the South African logistics industry. The company uses two Leister SEAMTEK 900 ATs, which have dramatically boosted production levels within the company, as well as over 30 Leister TRIAC ST hot air blowers, which are in daily use for the production and repair of tarpaulins.
