Set in the rolling hills near Darlington, a new holiday lodge development features a custom-designed lake that serves both as a visual centerpiece and a water retention system. To ensure long-term watertight protection, SCLT installed a 1.5 mm HDPE liner over an HPS5 geotextile layer. This combination prevents seepage, accommodates ground movement, and provides environmental protection.
The site’s varied terrain—with changing slopes, narrow trenches, and numerous seams—required welding tools capable of delivering consistent quality under all conditions. SCLT chose the Leister COMET 700 wedge welder and the Leister WELDPLAST 605 GEO extruder, supplied and supported by Welwyn Tool Group, Leister’s UK sales and service center.
