And it welds and welds and welds ... the VARIANT S welding machine has been in operation at Sirek Büchel AG for 40 years. Although the machine is no longer part of the Leister range today, the VARIANT T1 and VARIANT T1 Tape are the more recent versions of the robust welding machine.

Sirek Büchel AG from Buchs in the canton of St. Gallen manufactures everything from tarpaulins and vehicle lettering to individual promotional items that showcase a company’s corporate design. The company owns a true veteran on its production line – the VARIANT S welding machine, manufactured in 1984. The welding machine still looks good for its age and the type plate shines in green and silver. Only the heating nozzles are showing their age a little.

Bruno Niederl, who works in the company’s assembly department, swears by the device: “The best machine there is for welding on belts. Handy, fast, flexible.” Bruno has been with Sirek Büchel AG for 30 years – a shorter period of time than the Leister VARIANT S. “This VARIANT really is a reliable and durable machine. It’s fascinating that we’ve been using the same welding machine since 1984 and it still works flawlessly.”

The newer models, the VARIANT T1 and VARIANT T1 Tape, also continue to offer the famous robust Leister quality. And a new Leister welding machine from this product line is also set to be launched on the market this year. Bruno’s praise for the machine shows how important reliability and efficiency are in production. For Leister AG, it is great to see that these machines can maintain such a high standard for decades.
