The Leister hand grooving tool is used during the installation of resilient floor coverings made of PVC and natural materials such as linoleum and rubber. It enables flooring installers to cut a precise groove between adjoining sections of the floor covering. The groove is then tightly sealed with a welding or melting rod. Only a properly welded seam ensures a permanently tight floor covering, preventing water, dirt, bacteria, and germs from penetrating beneath covering and damage the adhesive or screed. Sealed flooring joints are therefore essential to ensure the long service life and durability of resilient floor coverings.
